STT EFL Classroom Management Workshops

Many new and even experienced English teachers find their biggest challenge in Vietnamese preschools and primary schools is classroom management. They struggle to keep students focused and orderly throughout lessons. This is in part because classroom management with children isn’t a major focus in teacher training programs like CELTA or many TEFLs. In addition, skills and techniques that work in smaller classes often don’t adapt well for either large classes or groups of very young children. A lot of teachers say that classroom management is the most difficult issue they struggle with in their classes.

The Star Teacher Training Preschool (ages 3-6) and the Primary (ages 6-11) Classroom Management workshops are designed to give teachers practical skills & principles for managing classrooms with up to 25 or even 45 students.

- Discussing why creating a sense of security is key for good behavior
- Identifying effective rules and routines for classes
- Analyzing and rating behavior management systems based on principles
Building a Better Teacher
- Presenting a recipe for great teacher presence to engage learners
- Comparing fixed and growth mindsets to improve behavior & learning outcomes
- Practicing effective praise techniques including wording and body language
